“A riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.”  Winston Churchill was referring to Russia, but for some, the phrase describes their perception of university tech-transfer!

Faculty:  How does the tech transfer process work at your institution?  Where do you start?  What are the steps?  Spin-out company or licensing deal: how does the institution decide?

Entrepreneurs:  How does the process really work?  How long does it take?  Are there ways to help ensure it goes smoothly?  What are best practices of successful university tech-transfer programs elsewhere in the country?

Get answers to these questions and more at the next ACCELERATE workshop, hosted by the Oklahoma Bioscience Institute and co-sponsored by the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber.

Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Jane Moores, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Technology Transfer, UC San Diego. UC San Diego, long recognized for its role in the growth of one of the largest biotech sectors in the country, has been ranked among the top universities in the world for its success in developing and translating biotechnology into commercial applications. Dr. Moore’s presentation will be followed by two expert panels answering questions about the tech transfer process from both the university and corporate perspectives.
